about

Welcome! I'm So Glad You're Here

Searching for help for your child can be overwhelming. If you’re reading this feeling worried, sad, or frustrated, I want you to know you’re not alone. And things can get better.

As a mom of 4 (boys/girls/biological/adopted), I understand the pressures the modern family faces - as well as the joys, challenges and complete exhaustion that can accompany the parenting journey!

I’ve had the privilege of serving hundreds of children and families over the past 27 years, which also provides me with broad clinical experience from which to draw.

Most of the children I serve are between the ages of 2 and 10 years old. Many present with behavioral challenges associated with diagnoses such as ADHD, ADD, anxiety, ODD;  or have a history that includes broken attachments and/or trauma.

I also provide counseling and consultation services for parents who need personal support.

Those who are specifically looking for a child counselor in Tampa who is trauma informed and attachment focused, find comfort in my approach.  Some are particularly looking for a TBRI Practitioner (Trust Based Relational Intervention counseling).

My credentials/training include:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (FL License No: SW 14498)
  • TBRI Practitioner (Trust Based Relational Intervention)
  • Adoption Competent Trainer for the State of FL
  • Graduate of Savannah Parenting Institute
  • BA from Flagler College - Philosophy/Religion, minor in Psychology (1992)
  • Masters in Social Work (clinical emphasis) - University of South Florida  (2001)

I practice with a strong family systems approach that is strengths and attachment focused.  I have had additional training in Brief Model Solution Oriented Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Teaching Families Model.

However your child came into your life - birth, foster care, adoption, guardianship - I believe with the right support, you have the greatest capacity to be your child’s hero.

My job is to help you tap into your super powers!

We will work together to restore peace and connection in your home, so you can feel confident that you are meeting the unique needs of your child, AND your own,  in the best way possible!

I look forward to speaking with you,
